I've just ordered my Amazon/Kindle as requested by my family and the estimated shipping date is Dec. 24.  No delivery estimate yet so I've told the family they can borrow my Sony Reader and wrap that up.  I also ordered the Xtraflex2 light which hopefully will work for both.

Meanwhile I still have my original RCA1100 which has been rebuilt by a computer expert and is showing wear and tear.  But this machine enabled me to survive five days recently in the hospital and my doctor has decided today that the reason for my good health is that I read as well as walk.  I am hoping that the Amazon/Kindle will have an even longer charge life.  

Actually I do most of my reading on my laptop which has over 17 thousand books on my DVD from Project Gutenberg.  And I'm looking forward to soon getting rid of my desktop amd updating the laptop.  And oh yet yes I still have over 800 print books but my field of interest is the long 19th century (1780-1920) and everything is coming on line.

What a great time to be alive!

I'd be more impressed if they hadn't refused to say how big of a stock
