Romances

Lest I give the impression I don't like romances - I love 'em when they're well written. I'm especially fond of the Chanson du Roland, Ariosto's Orlando Furioso, Pulci's Morgante Maggiore and Shakespeare's Troilus and Cressida. And Bizet's Carmen, and Gounod's Faust.
