Elaine,
I am not sure what the file format you can get back from Lulu is, but 
maybe you can take a peek at Amazon's Digital Text Platform 
(http://dtp.amazon.com/mn/signin). The program allows authors (with 
rights, of course) to upload electronic versions of their content to 
be sold at the Kindle Store. They accept file formats from HTML to 
Word files to PDFs.
