Steve Pendergrast was keynote speaker at EPIC's annual conference in 2004 so
I got to corner him and talk about a bunch of stuff and he arranged for EPIC
and my publishing company to both get set up as affiliate stores.  Early on
I was talking with him about selling print copies too, but customer service
logistics would have been a nightmare having to trust the publisher to
deliver the book on time.  Best FW does what they do best.

 

The money earned from the stores would not have paid off the $1,000 to set
it up for many more years.  You really have to carry everything, and then do
a lot of marketing to get people to your site.  Otherwise, you are just
another eBook store among hundreds.

Kinda thought so.
I did the same thing with hang gliders.
Being the official test pilot during fittings and modifications earned
me one of the finished models, complete with helmet and parachute.
Saved me $1200, which was a fat chunk of change back in Germany in 1972.
