Re: eBook Community's Twelfth Anniversary: State of The Group Message

I too, lurk, mostly, As another poster said, I don't always think I
have anything of worth to add--although my interest in ebooks is deep.

I've joined three or four ebook groups, and am still checking new ones
out. I've learned a good deal from the posts of others and would be
lost without this connection to their knowledge and advice.

I belong to 30+ lists--most have to do with epublishing and ebooks,
self-publishing, promotion and marketing. Still looking for ones
dealing especially with fiction titles and ones willing to discuss
ebook design, etc. Yes, I know, not many want to read fiction on a
screen. Plus, I write kids'/ya and do picture books besides sweet
romance. At a big disadvantage right there! 

Still, does that mean I'm supposed to just give up? Some might think
so, but I probably won't! I formed my publishing company for my work,
but have had requests from other authors asking if I was open to new
submissions. I'm not, mainly because I'm on a very small budget, and I
do all the work myself. Don't think I could do anyone justice right
now. Once I figure it out for my books, I'll consider others. Sure, if
I charged fees, I could do it. But, that wasn't in my plan.

I do belong to some forums, a couple of which I frequent often. I
check out a few blogs. But not as often as I check out the forums and
lists.
