Same here, IF I can't reasonably trust the person who's using it in a
message or a message sig.
I offer tinyurls as an alternative when I know or suspect Yahoo will
break a URL at question marks, ampersands, or other characters, as
with a URL like this one:

or:
http://tinyurl.com/388jc

TinyURL's are pretty durable. I've been using that one for about eight
years with no problems.

Seems likely that all of us on this group know how to cut and paste
parts of a URL to make it work, but remember when you were still new
to computing and such things were arcane activities.
Besides, some people are lazy. They might click a whole link, but
won't bother to try to piece one back together.
