RE: The right device at last?

John;Very nice response.I too never got the concept of paying $299.99 to listen to music but I happily spent that much on my Windows Mobile phone that does all that and more.With that said, I can completely understand and identify with the desire for an e-book reader and nothing else.Here's why: I primarily read e-books on my phone. eReader has that cool feature now where you can, just like the Kindle, download a book straight to your phone. I was hooked.But after reading everything I wanted to read at the moment I was going through some boxes and found a few paper books that got put away without being read. So, I figured it's time to read them.Geez Louise what a difference!I LOVE ebooks. I want nothing more than to be able to get whatever book I want as e to read wherever I am. But going back to a paper book made my heart  yearn for a dedicated e-book reader even more.I thought I got it before of how nice a dedicated reader would be but now I really "get" it.I wish they were cheaper. And I wished folks in the e-book community would recognize the reading experience is something to be valued like Apple understands the "experience" of using an Apple product is why they charge a premium. You can get a PC to do the same thing a Mac does, (and cheaper to boot!) but you don't get that Apple "experience" by buying a PC.Yes, we all could conitnue to sit around staring at computer screens or little cell phone screens and insist this is the way it should be. However, reading on an e-book device rivals the joy and comfort, the "experience", of reading a paper book and that's why I'll be getting one long before they are given away "free."It's the experience that makes it worth buying, and it is the experience that makes them worth selling.Will it appeal to everyone? No, especially those accustomed to the way things have been. And not everyone can afford one, I know that is what's keeping me from plunking my money down.  But I don't think they should be dismissed out of hand because there are people are gravitating to the "experience" of an e-book being just like a paper book on the Kindle or the Sony Reader.And if we have learned nothing from Apple and the iPod, iPhone, iMac, people will pay a premium for an "experience" even when there are dozens (hundreds?) of other cheaper alternatives that do the same thing.Aaron J.
