Of course, Ed is also a terrific author, so I can't imagine people  
asking him for refunds BUT.....

I would agree that posting samples is the key to keeping your reader.   
Even in the print world there are limits to book returns, and no  
guarantees that what you read you're going to like.  However, you  
don't really get the option to read excerpts for print books except  
maybe in reviews.  Ebooks are another story, particularly through  
Mobipocket where it seems there is an excerpt for every book that  
comes out.

I say caveat emptor.  Give away some excerpts, and the customer should  
be better informed as to whether or not the title is going to keep  
their attention.  Then, don't worry about doing refunds.
