PDF is the only ebook format I buy.  I don't know the exact ranking of 
format popularity but bet it would be in the top three.

As Lulu is non-exclusive why not do both lulu and own-site sales?  Some 
people will already have Lulu accounts, others might be put off Lulu 
and prefer a way to paypal you directly.  You can sell via your website 
through various methods including simply having an email form.
