Based on the formats my publishers offer, Adobe is always offered 
and
normally first even when the others are not alphabetical.  Also 
the
fact that it is observably standard for the academic and 
government
and many other sorts of documents I use, and most books made
available over the internet by various charities etc.  Added to 
that,
of course, the unconscious bias that suggest those thing I prefer 
are
also objectively the best.

I am with emily on this.    All government and government agency 
digital files in the UK are also pdf.   Pdf, so far as  I have 
seen, remains the most accessible.   It is readable on all 
computers and in a number of other places.   It is de rigeur for 
print files and so is the format for any digital version before 
and over and above all the variants.

Practically all other digital book formats are specific to 
digital machines, or to proprietary software - whether free or 
not.   That in itself limits the demand and usage.

The only serious other contender for numbers is txt and in books 
this needs reading masochists who are too few as a percentage to 
challenge pdf, which can present an amazing variety of designs - 
hey just like paper - on computer screens.

Pdf is also capable of including sound files and vision.

Did I miss something?
