I would imagine that the vast majority of them are read *offline* in their
electronic format, via PDAs, tablets, and other such devices.

By and large, I think the only ones that are printed out are PDFs such as
roleplaying game sourcebooks that are sold formatted to be printed (for
reference) rather than read on a screen.
