Re: Just a quick note

1) You're dreaming if you think that virus-checking programs are
perfect, or that people would want to entrust the safety of their
computer to one if they did not have to. Virus checkers are in a
constant race against what virus writers are doing, and are often a
few weeks behind when it comes to the latest hazard to come down the
pike. After all, they can't protect against it until it's loose in the
wild.

2) Hence, there is a rather long-standing prejudice against .exe files
among the members of this list. To be fair, you would have no way of
knowing that if you are new to this list, but all the same,
pooh-poohing other members' concerns does not really help your
credibility.

3) Anything that keeps your prospective audience from engaging with
your book is an obstacle you should consider removing. This includes
burying it in an .exe file when there are perfectly serviceable and
trustworthy e-book formats (ePub, Mobipocket, eReader, even ordinary
RTF or HTML) you could release it in.

Just sayin'.
