Perhaps it will be possible to recheck that experience on much
newer hardware.
It was reported this week that a third party company - MotionApps
- is producing a Classic Palm emulator for the new Palm Pre.
Although it is not clear how much, if any, network access will
work for classic Palm apps, ebook readers should work just fine.
The Pre screen is 320x480, and significantly brighter.
Performance is estimated to be twice that of the Treo 700 -
however, as long as it is just as fast as a Palm, this shouldn't
be a concern.
Moreover, since the classic Palm ebook reader apps have already
been written, there's no need to wait for a developer to decide
that it might be worth updating it for the new platform.
