Re: microsoft lit ebook format-value?

While LIT is still viable as a format per se, the chance of MS providing
continuing support and pushing it as a format for the next few years is
doubtful. On the developer side of things, LIT was unofficially
abandoned by MS support over five years ago when promised tools for
developers never materialized. The release of Windows Presentation
Foundation with fixed documents and flow documents put the final nails in
the coffin. Why bother with a closed publishing format when you can present
a document that is paginated ebook-style in a desktop application (WPF) or
embedded in a webpage (SilverLight)?
