I agree with Chris. You serve her better by informing her of 
the limitations she could encounter; I am quite certain the 
son will understand also, but that is for her to decide on.

My view is that this limitation will increase, certainly in 
the near future - which is the period that concerns your 
friend. The value of rights is going to be increasingly 
under the business plan spotlight as the recession continues 
to bite.

There is a some sort of arrangement for the sight impaired, 
and I am sure their organisation will be able to offer 
advice on whether something similar is available for the 
educationally disadvantaged.
