Re: Neat summary of Google strategy

I'd like to add my modest reply to this situation. As a surviving self-published children's author since 1999, I've constantly tried to find ways to re-invent myself based on the current market. Most times I discovered my vision was ahead of what the market could bare and would eventually catch up a year or two later. But at every instance the big guys are nervous about the little guy....

As far as this Google strategy to rachet down the price of online content to zero in order to make our valuable words nothing in the eyes of the public, I say you can't change a zebra's strips. We, the little guy, still rule the market from the bottom up. The Googles of the world always have scouts looking for things of worth at our level, especially if you have a large database of followers. They want that....if you're willing to sell out.

Gobble, gobble, gobble. These big companies are voracious imbibers and stuff their faces at any chance. My true belief is that if you are pursuing your dream, spreading your message, and living your passion, what starts as free becomes priceless on anyone's list.

So, keep on keeping on as a collective group of small to medium self-publishers. Remain a solid community and family. In particular, in today's economy and society of dire need, I know any individual can make a huge ripple, especially in their niche pond.
