Oh dej,

You are cynical before your time...

Both the early moves to wrest control of publishing from 
printers [Stationers' Company in the UK in 1710 and the 
mention in the US constitution] are based on principle, as 
was the move with Berne. Certainly the matter of sharing 
money was important, but there was equally the matter of the 
creator controlling use of that creation.

While WIPO looks a bit like a shaky leaf in autumn [fall], 
it is engaged i n the difficult principles of the rules 
towards developing countries to give access, rather than 
keeping the rights to money so strongly alive. That is 
indeed principle! Money chasing without principle produces 
Google ;-).
