I think you are right about the ramifications of these two points of
fact. But I also know that the latter one is by choice of the seller,
NOT a foregone conclusion. An ebook is not **required** to be licensed
thing at all. It can be a real item. It's a real computer file after
all. Software/ebooks are licensed because that is how the publishers
CHOOSE to make them. After all, licenses highly favor the publishers.
