If you want my two cents, as a reader (and having done my own for
release)... Some of the sites will still want it formatted as if it's going
to print (the page size, I mean, save the gutter, which you can ditch).
Whether they do or not, I PREFER companies and individuals that make a
5.5X8.5 or 6X9 presentation with .5-.75 margins around. Why? Because I can
make it nice and big on the screen, while I read.
I prefer an 11 or 12 pt font, because that looks good blown up into
larger...and is still large enough if read on a smaller screen. Fonts should
be easy to read. If it's not a standard TT font, embed it in the PDF file.
Images are nice, but make them small rather than large (your dpi), because
large image files make the file big (a memory hog) and slow.
I've found the typeset just fine with Word and Open Office, but use what
works for you. But it seems to work better when you start with a DOC rather
than an RTF file. Why? Not really sure, but it works that way.
