EPub is compressed HTML, with some metadata that tells an ePub reader how to read it. If you take a (non-DRM'd) ePub file, rename the extension to .zip, you can unzip it and see how it's put together. EPub as a standard allows a lot of options--but some ePub readers can't deal with all of them. Good ePub files require good CSS skills. Sigil is one ePub editing program that's actively being worked on; it's available at http://code.google.com/p/sigil/ TIA for any enlightenment you can provide. > > > Tom > > Tom Peters, CEO > TAP Information Services > 6106 South Stillhouse Road > Oak Grove MO 64075 > > phone: 816.616.6746 > email: tpeters-fAN9xjeiBT1J/[email protected] > fax: 816.625.0025 > web: www.tapinformation.com > > OPAL: www.opal-online.org > Unabridged: www.unabridged.info > Maxito Ricardo in Second Life > > TAP Info helps organizations innovate. > > Now reading: Chasing the Devil's Tail by David Fulmer (2001) and Barry > Lyndon by William Makepeace Thackeray (1844). > > My new book, Library Programs Online, has been published by Libraries > Unlimited. > "The Future of Reading" is the cover story in the Nov. 1st issue of Library > Journal. > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > > ------------------------------------ > > ------------------------------------------------------ > Post a message: ebook-community [[at]] * > Unsubscribe: ebook-community-unsubscribe [[at]] * > Switch to digest: ebook-community-digest [[at]] * > Switch to normal: ebook-community-normal [[at]] * > Put mail on hold: ebook-community-nomail [[at]] * > Administrator: ebook-community-owner [[at]] * > > (* == yahoogroups.com) > -------------------------------------------------------Yahoo!
