Thanks for the tip about Lightning Source. Here's an off-the-wall idea I had. Get some copies of my book printed and go into Barnes and Noble and put some on the table for sale. Guerilla sales. If I have the book on their eBook site, maybe it would be in their system - ISBN, etc. This would be fun. --- In [email protected], Paramount Publishing <mail@...> wrote: > > First you need to learn the difference between POD printers and POD > publishers (stay away from the POD publishers), then visit > http://lightningsource.com > > If you only want Amazon distribution visit http://createspace.com (but don't > selection their expanded distribution as they use Lightning Source for this, > so go straight to them). > > > Ta > Kristy > > On Wed, Dec 23, 2009 at 5:48 AM, Stuart Bray <stuartbray@...> wrote: > > > > > > > I found this article interesting: > > http://www.sfwa.org/for-authors/writer-beware/pod/ > > > > Basically, because the unit cost of printing a single book each > > time versus a print run, it is likely that it will be too expensive. > > > > I was keen on the idea of print on demand, but there is no shortage > > of companies ready to take your money because the vast majority > > of people who do it sell so few this way. > > > > Stuart > > > > ________________________________ > > From: berylgorbman <beryl@... <beryl%40gorbman.com>> > > To: [email protected] <ebook-community%40yahoogroups.com> > > Sent: Mon, 21 December, 2009 15:29:45 > > Subject: [ebook-community] print and fulfill book orders > > > > I have a book on Amazon eBooks (Kindle store). > > Is there a way to work with a one-off printing company so people can order > > a hardcopy on Amazon, pay through Amazon or paypal, and have the order go to > > a one-off printer who will print and mail the order and then I pay the > > printer? > > Thanks, > > Beryl Gorbman > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > > > > > > > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] > ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------ Post a message: ebook-community [[at]] * Unsubscribe: ebook-community-unsubscribe [[at]] * Switch to digest: ebook-community-digest [[at]] * Switch to normal: ebook-community-normal [[at]] * Put mail on hold: ebook-community-nomail [[at]] * Administrator: ebook-community-owner [[at]] * (* == yahoogroups.com) -------------------------------------------------------Yahoo!
