Don't forget to network in the forums as well by getting involved in discussions

It's easy to get your title up high as it's pretty unique, but that's not what your prospects will search for (yes I ended that with a preposition) 

So search for the google keyword tool and put your web address in it

Find the most searched for keywords that you have to compete with (yes I'm tired) and write articles around those keywords. Submit then to a few top article directories. You don't need to submit to 1000s as you see advertised. Your articles will get spread out via rss feeds that use the articles for content. My google alerts show these do get spidered and the hub bub about duplicate content isn't real important in this case. 

Use the same keyword idea on your craigslist ads. People are people and they search for the same stuff regardless of where they are at

Never doubted you!  I did google it and there you were.

Listen, I think I'm getting the hang of this.  I sent out press releases, listed the book on all my dog forums and now I listed the book on craigslist, even that's listed on the website.  If you google my title, I come up right away.  But if you google dog cancer, dog cancer books, I'm not listed under keywords.  I don't know why they took my second page About The Author, and listed that as well.

My friend will also give me a link on her website.  I read that's the best way to get listed with the search engines.  I did pay $30 for godaddy's search engine optimization so I'm listed with the big engines and some smaller ones.

I really love the google analytical.  I'm getting hits from Belgium, Australia, England.  They really break it down.  I even know which states in the U.S. viewed the pages.  I was getting a lot of bounces which I didn't have a clue what they meant.  After finding out the meaning, I put Who's Your Vet as the title on my home page.

Gotta eat my dinner now.  I've been on the computer all day.
