Simply put? Piracy is illegal, of course. The problem is, you're putting out
little fires, while the wildfire burns on unabated. You can get down links
and such, one at a time. You can get advertisers to pull their ad money from
a site that enables and aids piracy. But you cannot STOP piracy. Nothing
will stop it. Education we do reaches only the pirates that don't KNOW it's
wrong. Those that don't care that it's wrong or don't believe it's wrong
will not be deterred. The laws need an overhaul to more effectively deal
with a digital environment. The NY conglomerates need to get their heads out
of their backsides. The feds need to do something constructive, besides
trying to take Google down. Will it happen? Who knows. But that doesn't stop
us from trying to step the flow, of course.
