Even before Kindle, surveys of e-book readers showed that 2/3 or more were
using handheld devices. They were simply using things like PDAs, tablet PCs,
Pocket PCs, Smart phones, eBookwise, Franklin, old Rockets and so forth. Of
course, those are OLD numbers, but they show that people had embraced
reading away from the desk even in the early years.
