yet another reason to change how contracts with Amazon and other "big" distribution channels are written?

So...if you sign the standard contract with the "big" distribution channels,
they rip you off by having price wars with each other at the
author/publisher expense. If you demand a special contract to set your own
price with no discounts, you are accused of price fixing and therefore
subject to antitrust investigations. Yet another reason to go to the type of
contract where the distribution channels are required to pay a set
percentage of COVER price, regardless of what discounts they want to make.
IOW, LET them try to undercut each other with loss leaders, but make THEM
eat the sale...not us. Just my opinion.
