Re: ebooks - are these sites legit?

Fictionwise is legitimate.

Scribd CAN be but is sometimes used by pirates as well.

eBooks Download Free looks suspicious, because they have a request button
prominently shown. Always a bad sign, since it means people are used to
asking for books and having people illegally hand them over.

eBookShare is a torrent. Almost definitely illegal. Few torrents stick to
out of copyright works.

Download Free PDF is definitely a pirate used site. Clue? Harry Potter has
NEVER legally released in ebook. They have it. It's pirated. Simple.

eBook3000 is definitely a pirate used site. Same clue plus a few other
authors I know that are there.

eBooks Directory has a lot of out of copyright. I haven't had time to check
it thoroughly.

FreeBookSpot has a request button, which tells me it's probably used
illegally. See above.

Free-eBooks looks like it CAN be used legally but might not always be used
as such.

Just at a glance before I head to work. Don't have time to vett them all.
