Re: The Seven Types Of Pirate

For what it's worth, I'm living entirely on social security and I have a very limited income and I spend about 5% of it on books.  I buy my books and pay for them.  That's mostly in the form of audiobooks because I have vision problems but I do read some e-books as well.  And I pay for them.

I'm not trying to justify piracy.  The mass kind of piracy is wrong.  I never said anything to indicate otherwise.

Most of my e-book reading these days is on an Ipod Touch so I don't have to bother with converting formats.  When I was reading on my Palm and on my Cowon S9 I did have to do some format conversion of books I paid for so I could read them on a portable device.  I have no issue with that and I don't really care if others do.

What I was trying to do, and it seems I didn't succeed, was point out that the atmosphere that makes so many people feel okay about cheating isn't being recognized or dealt with by publishers.  Your reply and some of the others illustrate that.

Anyway, it seems that whatever I say on this topic is misunderstood so I think I'll drop it.  It's obviously a very emotional issue.
