I too this this has gone almost as far as it can.

I pointed out that there are publishers and publishers. Six major publishers work with Amazon and Apple to use those tied proprietary systems. A few hundred medium publishers have varied responses. Hundreds of thousands of small publishers mostly reject any form of DRM. 

The only response of publishers that seems relevant has been to try to  persuade governments to legislate to criminalise piracy. I see no way that helps pirates feel justified. So my problem is that I have no actual awareness of a publisher response that could be used in the way you suggest.

Nor do I see any 'argument between'. I do see a constant - though much reduced now -  series of attempts to justify piracy. It seems to me quite logical, reasonable and good business sense to answer those claims, and to ensure the publishers' case does not fail by default. 

Brenna in particular has already agreed that personal use is not piracy nor infringement [in the US anyway]. That being so I am not clear what you are promoting.
