And neither you nor he have to look over your shoulders; that is much more relaxing. While obviously I don't approve of the 99, I am fully aware that there are immense financial stresses on higher education students these days - this country is catching up with America in that.
For such items, that are costly even as educational, it seems to me ridiculous that the colleges don't have deals for bulk licencing and take that cost out of college budgets. Adobe will not last if it doesn't adopt more sensible policies. the cheaper alternatives are getting very close, and the open source challenge may well do a leap frog.
I don't defend Corporations, since I think they are gross liberty takers. But I don't, at the same time, accept their behaviour as justification generally for ignoring copyright. In this case, as with the policy on forcing students to overpay for books, it is hard to think that there is not justice with the students.
But better answers should be looked for, including ending the ridiculous 'new' editions that say nothing new, and learning to supply essential tools to students.
