Might as well just give them a signed paper book. I don't know of any ebook 
readers that directly handle CDs, and an increasing number of computers 
(including my newest from a year ago) no longer include a CD drive.

I suppose you could sign a special USB memory key. You can easily get 
promotional USB memory keys; get one with the book/author printed on it, load 
the ebook on the key, and then offer to sign the outside. One of the bamboo 
finished keys would be nice for that.
