B. Dalton Bookstores Bookstores are in trouble, thanks to digital readers,
online vendors and a general decline in reading as a pastime. This year saw
the closing of one of the nation's largest bookstore chains, B. Dalton. At
one time, B. Dalton claimed 798 stores in shopping malls and other locations
across the country. The chain was owned by Barnes & Noble when the ax fell.

***I'd also disagree with some of the trademarks they include. For instance,
the death of a founder or creator does not mean the death of the brand.
AND...personal nit. The fact that Sony has stopped making Walkman cassette
players does NOT mean the death of the Walkman brand in the US. I personally
own a Walkman MP3 player/video player. Sony just rightly evolved to the new
market with an existing mark. Now, if they've stopped making the MP3
player/video player as well...then I'd want to know why, since there's a
market for it. It just seemed the person who compiled this was trying to
stretch to include more things that aren't truly lost.
