I agree that it is one to watch. I have no idea about the pricing angles in academic publishing. There are likely to be many ways of restructuring it if the present one doesn't work in the new climate. For course work I can understand a preference for physical books. Another study a couple of years ago [maybe more recently] showed a wish to have the e-text in lectures, and the physical book for working.

I think some publishers have plumped too quickly for all ebook output in knowledge and how to areas. But there is a lot of dust to settle before buyer preference is clear.
