[These are interesting figures. Ebook sales are about 9 per cent of last year's sales - from AAP figures. The drop in print seems in exactly those places I would expect from reports of what sells well in digital format. The figures here suggest a sall drop in total, but it misses out so much that that is not a fact that can be taken for granted. And the most impressive thing, considering the state of the real economies in the west, is that even by themselves print sales are holding up well. Ebooks are almost looking the 'pulp fiction' of the noughts and tens. And there are uncounted markets that report good sales in POD and ebooks across many fields. - And here's a neat fightback for print from Europe. - The decline in UK print sales before ebooks take off may be a better marker for US pri
 nt sales drops. It does support the argument hat books sales declines is about the economy; in that light print sales are holding up remarkably. Ebooks is expanding the market on the evidence - still scanty - so far.]
