...for being so quiet this last week.

My old computer croaked, so I've been off-line and unable to mod the group for a few days.

The new box was supposedly able to run plain ol' WinXP, but it can't. It wants Dell's particular flavor of XP and won't accept any other version.

So... I put Puppy Linux and Firefox on it and got right to work anyway. :) (Here's a well-deserved, moderately obscene gesture at both Microsoft and Dell.)

But come Monday, I'll get a copy of Dell's version of XP to use with my computer's ID tag. Gotta stay legal and I still need that dual-boot capability.
This wouldn't happen if I didn't still need Win for about 4 little programs having to do with ebooks and conversions.

It would be such a joy to be able to completely dump Windows at long last.

Anyway, that's my AWOL excuse and I'm back on line, so it's business as usual again.
