A very upset ebook pirate emailed me and rantingly accused me of having planted a nasty virus in a torrent containing my books.
But he's wrong. I didn't do it. Don't even know how.
Apparently my accuser's computer developed serious problems immediately after the download on May 8. Much file damage, etc... Books, music, and movies lost on both his drives.
Poor little pirate.
But I honestly can't take the credit for his tribulations.
I didn't poison that torrent, but... I probably would have, if I knew how to do it truly, completely anonymously.
He said he was ready to drive down here and kick my a$$.
I said the drive would give him time to figure out where else a virus could get into a pass-along torrent file and asked him if anyone else he knew had similar problems.
In any case, I'm not worried. Even if he's demented enough to come here, the neighbor's beagle goes off at the slightest provocation and I'm not a pacifist.
