Attributor isn't really a solution.
You (author/pubber) still have to submit links.
They say they'll do some searching too.

But it all still amounts to an online 'whack a mole' game.

Let's say a thief wants a copy of Author Whosis's latest book.
What's his/her first step?
Simple. Fire up a search engine.
It bumbles around the net for a while and barfs up page after page of 'torrents' or 'torrentz' and some non-USA websites that offer Author Whosis's stuff. It'll even turn up some blatantly-named piracy clubs.

Many of the piracy sites are in China (a.k.a. "The Internet's Oldest and Largest Den of Thieves") and India and other places that flatly don't care about copyright infringement of US authors.
What's Attributor going to do about them?
Nothing. Nada. Zip.

Every search engine out there is a de facto accessory to copyright infringement crime when it holds up its little links saying, "Click here for stolen stuff!"

Until we can make the first step of FINDING pirated works much more difficult, we will have accomplished nothing.
Force the search engines to filter out known piracy sites and search terms and over half the battle against copyright infringement will have been won immediately.
