Just some thoughts...

1.  Get a good website for the book set up.  Point Google Analytics at
    it so that you can measure how much people visit it.  Use some of those
    full-color illustrations, if you have the rights to them.  Consider
    putting a long passage from the book up on the web site.  Have a way
    for people to sign up (name and address) for more info (like author
    tours, new books, etc.).  Compile that mailing list.

2.  Go to where your customers are, and sell the book to them.  Sounds
    like fantasy conventions might be a good start.  Put up flyers, be
    at the booth, and hawk autographed copies for a premium.  Find out
    who the people are, and add them to your mailing list.

3.  Set up a Twitter account and start tweeting.  You're nobody if you're
    not tweeting, apparently.

4.  Set up a game, or puzzle, on your new website, which can be solved
    with clues found by reading the book.

5.  Contact local radio and television stations; ask if they have any
    programs where authors read their books to an audience.  Same for any
    local colleges.  Not sure if bookstores would like this, but go ahead
    and ask, if you still have any local bookstores.

6.  Contact Books for the Blind and offer to read the book aloud for them.

7.  Make a Facebook page for the book.  Put the Facebook link on your site.

8.  Record a YouTube clip of someone (maybe you) reading a great piece from
    the book.

9.  Send review copies to folks who you think might mention your Web
    site in print.

10.  Start another book.
