I wish publishers would get a clue that their proprietary formats make us
less likely to buy, not more. I foolishly bought a couple of .lit books,
and one of them I was never able to read because the software lost my
authorization, and MS had just quit offering tech support. (Probably, I
suspect, because they couldn't fix the problems either!)

So I thanked my lucky stars that I'd only lost $8 and never bought another
.lit book again.

At the very least, these providers ought to offer a one-time transfer to a
live format when they decide to kill their old format. (I know this has all
been said before, but I can't resist saying it again . . . .)
