do ebook publishers consider your downloads/sales?

Hi.  I'm new to this community, and to publishing ebooks.

My question concerns eBookling <http://ebookling.com/> in particular, but
could just as well be asked of ebook publishers in general.

Specifically, I am wondering this:  If you publish an ebook and it has low
downloads/sales, will the publisher be less likely to accept your work in
the future?  I have an ebook that has already been launched on my own
private site, and is unlikely to elicit massive sales on eBookling, but just
the same I'd now like to make it available through them, gaining their
distribution, if it will not adversely affect my next ebook with them.

Obviously this question applies only to those ebook places that do not
automatically approve your work.  Ebookling rejects some books.

So, is there a tendency among such ebook publishers to look at your past
record when evaluating your new potential ebook?
