[On the face of it this is a compelling argument. A moment's reflection

raises the question: How does the writer know the people flooding to
bargains are the same people that buy at normal prices? More doubt is
cast by his reference to Borders; like other chains was not this company
selling discounted books - and the newest books at that?]
