And yet, no one quibbles when Identity Theft is called "Theft". An identity is also intangible and can be shared thousands of times online. In many cases, copyright infringers knowingly and deliberately and explicitly (albeit by default) purport to be the authors (Scribd TOS refers to uploaders as "authors") of the works they upload.
