Concern about IP changes in the UK

[A cold chill went down my spine reading this. The proposal introduces

an ability to make changes in Copyright Law without real scrutiny. The
Statutory Instruments mentioned are mostly 'nodded through' without
scrutiny, debate or even being read by any MP. There is also a clear
signal that breach is moving to criminal theft. Part of the proposals
look very much like 'what Google wants, Google gets'. If this goes
through expect similar law in the US and elsewhere.]
