high piracy levels - Google stats

[It has always been difficult to assess actual levels of piracy; pirates 
don't, after all, stand up to be counted. So anything that helps 
understanding must be gratefully received. Here Google explains why it 
has added 'take-down' notices to its algorithm for search ranking. 
Previously there had been many complaints that pirate sites appeared 
above the author's own entry, and sometimes above major etailers. The 
figures are not definitive, of course, but the numbers are an "at least" 
figure; put simply piracy looks to be at frighteningly high levels.]
