1. read Mark Coker's explanation. Then buy a book and see how ridiculous and hard it is to move from one format to another. THEN consider how very easy it is to take a PDF or other original and convert it to word )(free on some sites) Why inconvenience the guy who honestly bought it, what does it cost to have extra copies out there as free advertizing? There is a whole movement to avoid the drm books. In fact I go to Smashwords to buy because they are updated with no hassle. (ex Dan Poynters publishing books) The model is changing, don't get left behind in the dust, or you will be like my former friends at Borders. The very Best! Victor Brodt You can also search for lines of you book appearing on Google, and tract the bad guys and good reviews. --- In [email protected], "fire471" <merwiemba@...> wrote: > > In reading Smashwords' policy, it seems as though they don't have any kind of anti-copying protection on their ebooks, preferring instead to gently remind readers not to share purchased copies. To be honest, this has discouraged me from using Smashwords. However, I'm not sure how to go about distributing my book to retailers without them - has anyone formatted their book separately and supplied it directly to Apple, Kobo, Sony, etc? > > My book's been available in Kindle format for over a year and is selling quite well, but I'd like to make it available in other formats as well (as long as it's copy-protected).
