It's will look fine in an editor that understands Unix style newlines.

However, the standard text editor on Windows is Notepad, which will not
acknowledge the standalone LF (0x0A). As a result, it displays as one
continuous line with no breaks, typically wrapping at the window edge. It
would typically end up being about six lines long. Further muddling the
view is that words normally separated by a newline end up not separated at
all, but instead run together into strange amalgams of words and symbols.

Should you happen to have word wrap turned off on Notepad, it will display
as one line that is about 780 characters long.

So, different systems/programs -- one nice, one unreadable.

The only standard program on all Windows systems that will correctly read
this is Wordpad, but the default file associations will always use
Notepad.

Most email programs do understand the Unix newline, so the message will
look fine for everyone when sent as an email.
