The End Of The Independent Bookstore?

I'd be a little more convinced of Seth Godin's praise for Amazon if "The 
Domino Project" wasn't hosted by them. That doesn't stop aspects of what 
he says being true. And independent bookstores do need to find their 
niches in the new marketplace. But praising Amazon for displacing B&N is 
hardly convincing; both have proved savage price cutters. Definitely in 
praise of Amazon is the great increase in opportunities for authors and 
small publishers.

But, what I think needs a lot more thought is what "love of books" means.
