What's your point, s~Z? I don't think any of Bush's critics are trying to
keep their political views a secret in the opinion pieces they write, and I
expect that the writers who launch the most savage attacks on Bush Jr. know
exactly what they're doing. I've taught for years that even so-called
"objective" reporters and editors can't avoid reflecting their particular
worldviews even when they are presenting so-called straight news stories;
this is not a controversial asssertion. Nor should it be startling to
realize that particular individuals reflect their political opinions here
on Pynchon-L -- as others have pointed out, Pynchon's work is highly
political, touching on more than a few hot button issues. It has been
surprising to me to discover people with right-wing and even neo-fascist
political views who claim an affinity for Pynchon's work, that's for sure,
but live and learn I guess.
