Pelevin.
he is quite good and VERY popular, but last years there appeared general
opinion, that it is almost bad taste to like his novels. Because, he is
talented mass sci-fi writer in the end. Like SK in some ways.

His best novel from all points of view is "Clay Machine-Gun" (as far as i
remember english translation of russian "Chapaev i Pustota", whish is
literaly "Chapaev and Void")

The most famous one is "Generation P", describing early Russian 90ies as
fantastic world, ruled by media corporation. (Vineland ? ))))

"Omon Ra" worth reading: it is about fake Soviet project for space travel to
the Moon.

It is about rockets!! (GR?))))

There are also some of his early short stories, majoryty of them made in
style of sci-fi soc-art. For me Pelewin is some kind of classicer of the
soc-art.
