It still makes for a succulent anecdote. We do such marvellously stupid things when we´re this young. It´s beautiful, really. And well, as for Doug, he is odd, in his own treadmill and banal sort of way. I entertained the same bold ambitions, of mabe being able to address Pynchon a letter someday, but the wine is bountiful and fruitless. Discovering him as an unregistered title in a Latin American (American school) library--how vast it is-- and having him coerce me into laughter while I was very deliberately massmeasuring my intended hanging at tthe time, saved me. Here I am. Wishing I could thank the man for it. And unable to. Of course, I presume Doug may begin to dislike Pynchon for his circumstancial trans-isthmyc redemptive faculties. --Moni Re Minisce --- Toby G Levy <[email protected]> wrote: >Monica, > >Reminds me of the day I walked into Candida Donadio's office in 1966 and >asked for Tom's address so I could write him a fan letter.
