well, i am not really a kid anymore (except in spirit) being 25 and all. i found out about the wind up bird the same way i heard about thomas pynchon...a review in the seattle publication the stranger. they reviewed m&d and so i went to buy it and bought gr instead. got wind up bird a few years later and it quickly became one of my all time favorites. i don't know of a single person who didn't care for it. although...there were a few parents who were angry after their kids showed them catcher in the rye...but they shouldn't rely on the opinions of strangers when it comes to their own kids. i also read ellison at a young age. cj..who just realized he's been on this list for 5 years. >Kids reading (H.)
